Smokin Snowboards is proud to offer to its customers an industry leading 3 year warranty on all snowboards. We are able to do so because we manufacture all of our own boards, and we choose to do so because we care about snowboarding.
What exactly qualifies as a warranty?
A warrantable issue is any non cosmetic defect in the craftsmanship of a snowboard that is not the result of misuse, abuse, neglect, or normal wear and tear of a snowboard. Generally warrantable issues include but are not limited to: Delamination occurring anywhere on the snowboard, edge separation that is not the result of any impact, insert pulling, top sheet peeling that is not caused by impact, and board breakage that is not the result of misuse by the consumer. All warranty claims are carefully inspected by our staff and the final decision regarding all warranties lies with our warranty department. Any attempt at warranty fraud or intentional breakage will result in a voided warranty.
What isn’t a warrantable issue?
Non warrantable issues include but are not limited to: Any board breakage which occurs between the bindings, Any board breakage which is a direct result of an improper use by the consumer (I.E. landing backseat or shoveling your nose). This is generally characterized by a break which occurs along the bindings outer line within 3 inches of the binding on either foot. Other non warrantable issues include any damage done to the base of a board, edge or sidewall damage ( I.E.clipping a rail) where an impact was involved or may have indirectly caused a resulting issue. Nose and tail impacts, stripped inserts, topsheet scratching or damage, and any cosmetic issue which does not effect the performance of the snowboard are deemed non warrantable.
What should I expect from a Smokin Warranty?
We understand that our customers are pushing their limits on a snowboard, and sometimes things happen. When an issue does arise, you can expect a quick resolution to your problem, so you can get back on the hill and keep progressing. If your snowboard has a warrantable issue we will be happy to help. All we need from you is the damaged board and a sales receipt from a licensed Smokin dealer. If the board is warrantable and is repairable, Smokin will make any necessary repairs at no cost to you and ship your board back to you for free. If your board has a warrantable issue and is not repairable, we will replace that snowboard for up to 3 years from your board model’s release date. If you send your board to us and it is not a warrantable issue but is repairable Smokin will fix your board at no cost, but will contact you regarding return shipping charges.
What if I break my board and I know it was my fault?
It happens. When you are stepping it up learning a new trick, or even just practicing an old trick; things can go wrong. Messing up is as much a part of snowboarding as landing tricks is, and it helps make you a better rider by learning from mistakes. When something goes wrong on the hill and it ends in a broken board, most companies will hang you out to dry. They sell you a board and cross their fingers that they never hear from you again until it’s time to sell you a new one. At Smokin, we care about the people who choose to ride our snowboards. We know that there are hundreds of brands out there and to choose ours means you stand for something in snowboarding. That being said, we have developed a new program unlike any warranty currently offered by any other company on the market. We call it bummer replacement.
What is Bummer Replacement?
Our new B.R. program takes into consideration the struggles of trying to get better at snowboarding, and the burden of a broken board. We want to see everyone ride to their fullest potential without living in fear of a snapped deck. Bummer Replacement gives our customers a chance to say hey, I biffed the landing and snapped my tail , now what? We’ll tell you what, we offer replacement boards for the length of the warranty (3 years) at a special no profit rate direct to the consumer. We don’t want to get rich off someone just trying to get better at what they love, we want to help you get there any way we can. So buy a Smokin board, and for 3 years we’ve got your back on a bro hook up price for a broken deck. Just make sure that any board you send back for Bummer Replacement is clearly marked “Bummer Dude” so we know you aren’t trying to warranty it. There is no limit to the number of bummer replacements you can receive, but your Bummer Replacement expires at the same time your warranty does (3 years from original model release date).
